Each year Rebecca accepts a small selection of portrait commissions.

These can be in oil paint or graphite.

  • The graphite or charcoal drawing process takes c. 3 days per single portrait from start to finish. However, this usually spans a week or so to allow time for feedback.

  • The oil painting process is a much more drawn-out and labour-intensive process. It includes 7 or 8 layers of paint and a protective varnish. Drying time is needed between each layer, and then a longer final drying time to make sure everything is set before varnishing and packing it for postage/ delivery. So, I would expect the whole process to take between 4 weeks and 3 months (depending on the complexity, size and thickness of the paint).

Please be aware that portrait commission slots are reserved

several months in advance.
